You could also try a flat surface like a baking sheet or even just the floor to tape your small toys to. Having different surfaces will make it a little more fun for your toddler too.
When my son does this activity he wants to do it over any over so having 2-3 pans may be beneficial. You will also need painters tape — any color is fine — which can be found in most hardware stores or online. I bought this multi color pack so I could use it in other activities as well.
Finally, you will need some of your child’s small toys. Just use whatever you have on hand, you dont have to go buy anything new.
Some examples of toys that work well are action figures, little people, small dinosaurs, cars or any other small toys you have that will fit in the holes of a muffin pan.
